CSU Merit Scholarships

Chicago State University recognizes the importance of a quality education and is dedicated to helping students find a way to achieve their higher education goals.  To help in this effort, Chicago State University offers merit-based scholarships to academically talented students.  CSU Merit Scholarships are automatically awarded to qualified students who apply early.  Applications are due to the Office of Student Financial Aid by August 30th.

Chicago State University Presidential Scholars Program

For academically talented students who demonstrated leadership ability, and have maintained a 3.35 cumulative grade point average and an ACT score of 20 or higher.

Chicago State University Foundation Scholarships

The CSU Foundation provides scholarship opportunities for undergraduate students who demonstrate high potential in academic and community service work. Visit the Foundations web site for additional information and to download a copy of the General Scholarship Application.

Dr. Joyce Jones Memorial Scholarship (Early Childhood-Primary Teacher)

This award and scholarship are presented to a teacher candidate with a 3.0 GPA or better. This candidate must possess an outstanding attitude and excellent professional disposition/behavior. The purpose of the fund is to provide students from the College of Education with funds to offset the costs incurred while student teaching.   See department for scholarship criteria

Gateways to Opportunity Scholarship Program

The Gateways to Opportunity Scholarship Program is an individual-based scholarship opportunity for eligible practitioners working in Early Care and Education (ECE) or school-age care programs. The Gateways Scholarship Program will pay a percentage of tuition and fees dependent upon availability of funding.

Maryan C. Mackey Memorial Award

This award is presented to a bilingual education major who has shown great potential to impact the lives of English language learners.  It was established in memory of Maryann Mackey, a 1994 CSU graduate of the M.S. in Bilingual Education program.  See department for scholarship criteria.

Outstanding Senior Scholar Award (Undergraduate Bilingual Education Candidates)

The Bilingual Education Outstanding Senior Scholar Award is presented to a senior who has maintained superior academic performance in the study of bilingual education.  See department for scholarship criteria.

The Bill and Kitty Robinson Scholarship

This award and scholarship are presented to a student teacher in Early Childhood or Elementary Education. The award is made in two installments (mid-semester and end-of-semester) based on evaluations from field-based supervisors during student teaching.  See department for scholarship criteria.
