Recommended Pattern
1. REQUIRED COURSES - 12 credit hours.
FREN 1010, 1020, 2010, and 2020.
2.ELECTIVE COURSES - 8 credit hours.
Completion of 8 credit hours of French to be selected with the approval of the departmental academic advisor. Completion of the minor prior to graduation.
Minor Sequence In Spanish
Recommended Pattern
1. REQUIRED COURSES - 12 credit hours.
SPAN 1010, 1020, 2010, and 2020.
2. ELECTIVE COURSES - 9 credit hours.
Completion of 9 credit hours of Spanish to be selected with the approval of the departmental academic advisor. A minimum of 6 credit hours must be completed at Chicago State University. Completion of the minor prior to graduation.
Minor Sequence in Latin American / Latino Studies
General Requirements
Completion of a minimum of 21 credit hours to be selected with the approval of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures Program advisor. Equivalents from other institutions will be considered, but at least 12 of the 21 credit hours must be earned at Chicago State University. Latin American / Latino Studies courses may be used to satisfy the College of Arts and Sciences general education requirements.
Specific Requirements
1. REQUIRED COURSES - 9 credit hours.
SPAN 214 and 230. Students must choose one course from the following: SPAN 2020, 201, 202, 211, 212, 215, or 216.
2. HUMANITIES - 6 credit hours.
Two courses selected from the same discipline: ART 207 and 217 ; SPAN 219, 250, 251, 3145, 315, 320, 327, or 366; MUS 113 and 210.
3. SOCIAL SCIENCES or SPANISH - 6 credit hours.
Two courses selected from the same discipline: GEOG 253, 310, or 313; HIST 364, 367, or 368; ANTH 211, 318, or 320; SPAN 219, 250, 251, 3145, 315, 320, 327, or 366. POL 327 can be taken with any of the above history courses to fulfill the social science requirement for the minor.
