Dr. Virginia Shen is originally from Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. She received her B.A. in Spanish from Fu Jen Catholic University in Taiwan, her M.A. in Latin American Literature from Instituto Caro y Cuervo in Bogotá, Colombia, and her Ph.D. in Spanish from Arizona State University. Her areas of expertise and research interests include Latin American Literature and Culture, Afro-Hispanic Literature, Hispanic Literature of the U.S., Women’s Studies, and Chinese Language and Culture.
