Teaching Option at Chicago State University (COE policies)

Students must follow the curriculum in
effect at the time they officially register in a teacher education
program, regardless of when entered the university.
GPA/Repeated Courses:
1. Any required course may be repeated no more than twice;
2. No more than 2 professional ed courses may be repeated;
3. Not admitted due to low GPA; re-apply within next 30 hours;
Students will be dropped from program for the following:
Third unacceptable grade in same course;
Third professional ed course completed
unsuccessfully;
Failure to raise GPA after 30 hours
Students who are dropped from a teacher education program are not
eligible to pursue initial teacher certification at CSU.
General Education Transfer Policy
No D grades are allowed
Courses completed prior to admission to COE but not
accepted at time of admission, check with OTC before adding.
