Welcome to the Department of Chemistry and Physics
The Department of Chemistry and Physics offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemistry and Physics, as well as courses in physical science. We also run several special projects, including MBRS, the Chemistry Van, the Physics Van, and Science Fair Central. Our students have a chemistry club (NOBCChE) and a physics club (Society of Physics Students). We've implemented innovations in teaching and assessment, and we maintain active research programs. Check out some of our photos, and meet our faculty and staff.
Department education highlights
In the Department of Chemisry and Physics at CSU we seek to foster students' conceptual understanding of chemistry and physics. Courses are strucutued around inquiry and hand-on learning. Tutoring and support are availble to help students succeed.

Scholarship programs are available for motivated students seeking to further their carreers in science. MBRS provides support for undergraduates who plan to pursue graduate degrees. The Noyce Teacher Scholar program provides supports undergraduates and masters/certification students who plan to teach high school science.
