The Department of Communications, Media Arts and Theatre (CMAT) at Chicago State University
built its original television studio in the early 1970’s as part of Chicago Cable
Access. The studio is located in Douglas Hall. Over the years, the TV studio has been
upgraded to an HD tapeless facility. Additionally, the facility houses:: digital editing
suites (Avid and FinalCut Pro), audio production suites, digital graphics suites and
the use of HD camcorders for students to check out for projects and remote shoots.
