Welcome to the Physical Plant and Maintenance Department
This Department has the responsibility of maintaining a 161 acre campus comprised of 11 structures. Containing approximately 900,000 square feet combined. The building service staff attends to the daily custodial and maintenance needs.The physical plant directs central infrastructure maintenance and repairs through an in-house staff and operating plant engineers, electricians, carpenters and painters. Depending on maintenance schedules, current workload, deferred maintenance and unforeseen immediate priority, there are circumstances that require CSU to outsource some repair projects.
When we procure the services of contractors we are restricted in how projects are purchased. Essentially, we are by law to required to follow the Illinois Purchasing Guidelines. The Direct of Purchases will provide a brief description outlining the purchasing procedure. |
