The Graduate Technology and Education program leads to a Master of Science in Education degree in Technology and Education.  Students who enroll in the program are offered the opportunity to complete courses via the Web. Preparation for the Master's thesis or project (T&ED 499) requires periodic face-to-face sessions with the thesis advisor. The time and place of these sessions are arranged at the convenience of the thesis advisor and the candidate.

The program prepares technology leaders for education, business and industry and does not lead to teacher certification.   Courses are sequenced to develop competencies necessary for program planning and development, staff development, assessment and evaluation, and facilities management. Program completers typically serve in leadership positions as technology trainers, directors, coordinators, and specialists. he program is aligned with standards set forth by the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI).

The following are general program requirements:

  • Fulfillment of general requirement for admission.
  • Completion of at least 24 hours of related undergraduate work.
  • Completion of 33 to 39 credit hours at the graduate level.
  • Completion of at least 18 credit hours 400-level Technology and Education courses with a minimum grade of B (3.0).
    • Three (3) of the 18 credit hours must a research techniques course (T&ED 490)
    • Three of the 18 credit hours must be a research paper (T&ED 493) or thesis development (T&ED 499) course.
  • A minimum of half the course applied to the master's degree at the 400-level.
  • Completion of all degree requirements within six years.

Enrollees may elect one of the following three program options: Thesis; Project and Research Paper with Two Additional Courses. The following are specific requirements for each option:

Fifteen (15) credit hours of 300/G or 400 level courses selected with advisor's approval. No more than 9 of the 15 credit hours may be laboratory courses.
