The Textbooks and Learning Materials Program (TLMP), a component of the Africa Education
Initiative was launched in 2002 to work with African governments and Ministries of
Education to create substantial solution to the many pressing educational challenges
in six sub-Saharan countries, including lack of adequate educational materials and
insufficient training for teachers.
Since the launch of the program in 2002, TLMP has provided over 5 Million workbooks,
teachers’ guides, related resources and teaching materials within 14 districts in
Ghana for use in Kindergarten to Primary 3 classrooms.
This program has had a positive impact on millions of children in Ghana and has helped
to improve the literacy problem that affects the country. TLMP is continuing to work
diligently to provide even more books to children in order to promote the importance
of education and the world of possibilities it can open when obtained.
