Minor in Psychology
Requirements for a Minor in Psychology
* Note: If you are transferring psychology courses to CSU there may be a direct substitution to some of the Core requirements. Ask a Psychology Advisor about possible substitutions.
18 total credit hours are required for a Minor in Psychology. Of these 18 credit hours 9 credit hours of Psychology core courses and 9 credit hours of Psychology elective courses must be taken.
Core Courses for a Minor in Psychology (a total of 9 credit hours)
- Psychology 1100 – Introduction to Psychology
- Psychology 2040 – Child Psychology -or-
- Psychology 2000 – Lifespan Development
- Psychology 2080 – Introduction to Statistical Methods in Psychology
Elective Courses for a Minor in Psychology (a total of 9 credit hours)
- Elective courses are any Psychology courses that are not part of the Core Courses listed above.
Notes:
- A grade of “C” or better is required for all Psychology courses applied towards the Minor.
- Students wishing to receive a Minor in Psychology must first declare their Minor.
- Before graduation, the student must see a Psychology Advisor to obtain a Psychology Evaluation Completion Form.
- If you take Psychology 204, then you may take Psychology 217 as one of your electives.
