Full Time Tenure Track Faculty in Early Childhood Program

Early Childhood Program at Chicago State University seeks candidates for a full-time tenure-track faculty position, beginning in the Spring 2010.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: The candidate is expected to include supervision of student teachers/practicum, teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses; advising students; engaging in scholarly activities and research; developing and maintaining positive relations with outside agencies; and participating in service activities at the discipline, school and university levels.

Qualifications and Experience:
The candidate is required to have the following:

1. Earned Doctorate in Early Childhood (ABD considered but doctorate must be completed by August 2010)
2. Background in Primary and Special Education
3. Illinois Teaching Certificate (with an endorsement in early childhood preferred)

Other Qualifications Desired:

1. Evidence of teaching at the college or university level, minimum two years (preferred)
2. Evidence of a minimum of five years teaching experience at the early childhood or elementary level
3. Experience using technology, such as Blackboard, LiveText, Microsoft Office, etc.

Salary and Rank: Salary and fringe benefits are commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Starting Date: Spring 2010
