Journal Submissions
This year’s conference theme will focus on the rich literacy, cultural, and creative contributions emerging from and pertaining to the African Diaspora. We invite you to send two poems, a short story, or a critical essay for possible publication in the 2007/08 edition of WarpLand: A Journal of Black Literature and Ideas. Topics should focus on the conference theme or works of a writer listed in the previous paragraph.Please submit a printed copy and WordPerfect or Microsoft Word file on a PC formatted disk.

The worlds of Literature and Jazz collide when University Distinguished Professor Haki R. Madhubuti joins Nicole Mitchell, ranked #1 in Downbeat Magazine's Critic's Poll for "Rising Star Flute," and the Black Earth Ensemble reprise Mr. Madhubuti's acclaimed poetry and jazz LP, Rise Vision Coming. This "Verbs & Vibes" performance is scheduled for Thursday, October 18, 2007, from 7 - 9 p.m.
