What is Convocation?

Freshman Convocation is an annual tradition when all freshmen are officially inducted into their graduating class, and their academic careers officially begin at Chicago State University. Students are welcomed to the university community by the President, Provost, Vice President of Enrollment Management, Dean of First Year Experience, faculty, and staff. Freshman Convocation is a celebration of university life and Chicago State University traditions. All freshman students attend this important event. Freshman Convocation provides students with an opportunity to gather with their classmates and join the CSU academic community through a major campus event that parallels the joyous and meaningful commencement ceremony that will mirror their graduation only a few years in the future.

Please expect a late summer invitation to this event.
