Instructions for Completing the College of Education School Safety Training

`Note:  You will need Adobe Reader to access the School Safety Training module.  If necessary, click here to download a free version of Adobe Reader.

1.      Click here to access the COE School Safety Training module

2.      The module will open in Adobe Reader.

3.      Click the right pointing arrow > to begin the module.

4.      Read each slide.  Periodically you will encounter Key Lessons that have questions attached to them.  Answer each question correctly. Use the Marquee Zoom tool to increase the slide size, if needed.

5.      When you finished and you reach the slide that shows “your score is 240 ( Max Score is 240)," do the following:

a.       Select the Snapshot tool (Camera Icon) or from the Tools menu. (Tools, Select and Zoom, Snapshot Tool)

b.      Highlight the entire slide that shows your score is 240 (See Figure 1 below) and Click Ok to make a snapshot.

c.       Open a new document in your word processor and paste the snapshot of the slide into the document.

d.       Return to the Safety Module in Adobe Reader.  Move to the next slide, which shows your certificate.  Follow steps “a” through “d’ above to make a snapshot your certificate.

e.       Return to your word processor document and paste the snapshot of your certificate in the document. (See Figure 2 below.)

f.       Key your name and major at the top of the document.

g.      Save and print the document.  This document should be submitted either your advisor or the appropriate College of Education official to document that you have complete the School Safety Education training as a part of your teacher preparation program.
