1. May we read your paper? In Fall 07, 102 students received assistance with several kinds of writing. The majority of the work they brought was papers assigned by their instructors, but there were also resumes, personal statements,  memos, portfolios, cover letters application forms, etc.

2. Computer lab: Yes, we have a computer lab where you can use computers for all your computing needs. Printing is just 10 cents a page, payable in cash. You can also pay by using our newly arrived coin tower by swiping your CSU ID card (provided you have money on your card!). We also have scanners to scan paper documents (including pictures) and store them electronically. During Spring 09, 400 students use the lab for various reasons. Altogether, they used the lab for 1,293 hours.

3. Workshops: We offer workshops in writing research papers, resumes, Basic Skills Test and APT preparation, and portfolios. We also plan Livetext workshops (in collaboration with the CITE coordinator). If you can not make it to the workshops, stop by or call to arrange for a one-on-one appointment.

4. One-on-one assistance: For students who need it, we offer individualized instruction in Math and Language Arts in preparation for the Basic Skills Test as well as the writing portion of the APT.

5. Supplies: Do you need a AA battery, a stick note, a glue stick, or a flash drive? These and many other supplies you may need are available for a small donation. If you need something, just ask; we might have it.

Cougar Academy for Teachers (CATs): it’s a summer camp hosted by TWRC each summer. For five weeks, middle and high school students who might be interested in becoming teachers are engaged in exciting, hands-on, and enriching learning activities that integrate science, language arts, math, research skills, and other concepts. Call 1-773-995-2215 in April if you know a child who might be interested in this program.

Homework Club: Students who are in first through high school receive homework assistance and tutoring for CSU prescreened preservice teachers. This is an easy way for prospective teachers who need tutoring hours or community service hours to fulfill this obligation, but also to have some experience working with children.
