Field Based Teacher Internship Program
The COFPS Office will continue to oversee the Field Based Internship Program and provide the following clinical-based training through 2015:
- Full-Time College of Education Student
- Students with a minimum 3.0 G.P.A
- Annual Fall Semester Recruitment (Applicants may apply during Summer semester, Deadline July 31)
Application process includes:
- Student Interview
- Group Challenge
- Written Essay
- Personal & Academic References
Field Based Interns experience advanced hands on training with the following:
- CPS/CSU Teacher Technology Training
- Pre-Service Teaching Experience and Classroom Management
- Assigned Student to Student Mentor
- Certification Preparation
- Research training
- Education Conference Participation
- Study Abroad Opportunities (Urban, Rural, International)
- Stipend Disbursements (After completion of Fall & Spring Semesters)
Stipends awarded to candidates through our Field-Based Teacher Internship Program to support field experiences in pre-clinical settings. Nineteen (26) interns were awarded at total of $24,556.80.
