Get to Know Sam Franklin

Sam Franklin is a Communications, Media Arts and Theater (CMAT) student here at Chicago State University. Now in his senior year, Sam has attended CSU for his entire college career. Sam has also participated in internships with Clear Channel and a paid internship with the Louis Carr Foundation in association with Black Entertainment Television. He currently serves as WCSU’s (CSU‘s radio station) Promotions Director and on-air talent.

About the CMAT Program

Housed within the College of Arts and Sciences, the Department of Communications, Media Arts and Theatre (CMAT) offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in one of three concentrations: Media Arts, Communications/Public Relations or Theatre. The department also offers minor sequences in Communication Studies, Theater Arts, Public Relations, Hispanic Media and Sports Broadcasting. The Bachelor of Arts degree is a broad-based program to prepare students for careers in radio, television, and interactive media.

Professor Christine List, Ph.D.

Dr. List is a professor and program coordinator for television, film and screenwriting. She holds a Ph.D. from Northwestern University, Department of Radio-TV-Film. She is an award-winning filmmaker whose work has been broadcast both locally and internationally. Click here to read more.
