CSU | Police - Message form the Chief

I am honored to have been selected to serve the Chicago State University (CSU) community as Chief of Police. Having graduated from this institution in 1978 with a B.S. in Management, I am extremely happy to return to this campus as the Chief Executive of the Police Department. The university has grown tremendously since I was last on this campus, growth in both size and in the academic offerings available to our student body.

The CSU Police Department’s Mission is to provide a professional uniformed presence in, on, and around our campus that fosters a safe and secure university environment for our student’s staff, faculty, administrators and visitors at this beautiful urban campus. Members of our department are friendly and approachable and I encourage each of you to seek them out if you have questions or issues needing resolution, we are here to help.

In addition to Uniformed Police Patrols, members of our Security Staff can be found providing security at our New Academic Library, at the CSU Dormitory and in our parking lots. In addition, the members of the department’s Parking Staff are on duty daily at both entrances to the campus and in our parking lots, enforcing parking regulations and providing assistance to motorists when needed. The department recently launched the “CSU Cougar Shuttle” which currently transports students and staff between the campus and the CTA Redline Station at 95th and State Street. Pickups and drop-offs on campus are at the north side of the Student Residence Hall and in the B – 7 parking Lot.

The CSU Police Department personnel are a vital component of the CSU community and our members treasure the relationships that we build daily with our university community.

I look forward to my service here at Chicago State and hope to meet as many of you as I can during each academic year.
