Associate Vice President Date: April 26, 2002 (revised) Subject: On-Line National and International Funding Sources for CSU Faculty, Staff and Students Through cooperative arrangement with the University of Illinois-Urbana, the Illinois Reearcher Information Service (IRIS) database of funding opportunities is now available on NETSCAPE to faculty, staff and students at CSU.
The database contains over 8,000 descriptions of federal and private funding opportunities in the sciences, social sciences, arts and humanities. In addtion, it has funding opportunities for foreign scholars to doresearch in the United States, and opportunities for U.S. citizens to study or do research in other countries.
The database is edited daily and updated on a weeky basis. Because it is on-line, there is no diskettes or CD-ROMS to keep track of. If you need funding for a particular project, all you need to do in the comfort of your office is to turn on your OC and follow these simple instructions:
1.OPEN YOUR WEB BROWSER (NETSCAPE OR INTERNET EXPLORER) 2.GO TO: - the next pages shows an example of what the site looks like. You will be presented with a variety of options and information: Information about the database and how to use it.
